Properly Using Submersible Pumps
1. When lifting equipment, it is strictly prohibited to directly lift cables or use cables to hoist other heavy objects.
2. The cable ends must never be immersed in liquids.
3. All equipment housings must be reliably grounded to prevent electric shock accidents.
4. The inner diameter of the discharge pipe must meet the specified requirements (in principle, it should not be smaller than the pump's outlet diameter).
5. Submersible sewage pumps should not be placed directly at the sewage inlet. If the pump is set on muddy ground or loose sandy soil, vibrations can cause it to sink over time. In such cases, it’s recommended to place the pump on a larger baseplate for added stability.
6. When using pumps in wastewater, mud, debris, and other materials tend to accumulate around the pump casing, reducing heat transfer efficiency. This can cause the motor temperature to rise, potentially shortening the stator's lifespan or even triggering unintended trip-offs. Therefore, after pumping the wastewater level down to its lowest point, be sure to remove any accumulated debris—ideally once a year. If necessary, disassemble the cooling jacket mounting plate to thoroughly clean both the cooling jacket and the circulating water pipes of any obstructions.
7. When the temperature drops below 0°C, if the pump is still operating normally, it can continue to be used; otherwise, it should be lifted and stored in a well-ventilated, dry place, taking care to prevent freezing.
Pump Maintenance and Servicing
To ensure the proper operation and longevity of submersible sewage pumps, regular inspections and maintenance should be performed:
1. Replace the sealing ring: After prolonged use in sewage media, the clearance between the impeller and the sealing ring may increase, leading to reduced pump flow and efficiency. To address this, turn off the power switch, lift the pump out of its position, remove the bottom cover, take out the sealing ring, and then match a new one according to the actual dimensions of the impeller shroud ring. Typically, the recommended clearance is around 0.5 mm.
2. When a submersible sewage pump is not used for an extended period, it should be cleaned, lifted out of the water, and stored in a dry, well-ventilated area—taking care to protect it from freezing. If the pump remains submerged, it must be run for at least 30 minutes every 15 days (never allowed to run dry) to verify its functionality and ensure proper performance.
3. The cable should be inspected at least once a year, and if it is damaged, please replace it immediately.
4. Inspect the motor insulation and tighten screws at least once a year. If motor insulation has deteriorated, please contact our company’s after-sales service department. If any screws are loose, retighten them immediately.
5. Before leaving the factory, the submersible sewage pump has been filled with an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to protect the mechanical seal. This oil should be checked annually. If water is found mixed with the oil, drain it completely, replace the oil, swap out the sealing gasket, and securely tighten the screw plug. Three weeks later, perform another inspection. If the oil has once again turned into an emulsion, the mechanical seal needs to be thoroughly examined—and if necessary, replaced (please contact our company’s after-sales service department).
Note: The oil used is 32# mechanical oil.
6. If the submersible sewage pump malfunctions during operation, please follow the provided troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. If the problem persists and you’re unable to identify the cause, do not attempt any unauthorized disassembly or repairs—instead, contact our company’s After-Sales Service Department immediately.
